Yes indeed, Brian and the Orbiters will be competing in The South Sound Blues Association's "Back to Beale Street" competition this year! The preliminary round is June 1 at Jazzbones, and includes 13 bands (!), each performing 25 minute sets per the Blues Foundation's "International Blues Challenge" rules. Judges scoring per the IBC criteria will result in selection of five finalist bands for a final round at this years Tacoma Freedom Festival on July 4. The winner of the band finals and (already selected) solo/duo winner will then proceed to compete in the Blues Foundations IBC competition in Memphis in early 2015! Jazzbones is a wonderful venue, and there's going to be a ton of fine music, so come on out!!! Click on the poster for the full roster of contestants and additional details. Fun!
