The AstroCats band merges the styles of two great frontmen- blending the superb modern indie rock style of guitarist/vocalist Billy Shew with the roots based blues guitar, slide guitar, harmonica, and vocals of Brian Lee. The AstroCats rhythm section features the excellent Hank Yanda on bass (also performing with Brian Lee & the Orbiters), and AstroCats band leader - the remarkably versatile Charlie “Mac” McDowell on drums.
The AstroCats repertoire features Billy’s original modern indie rock songs, Brian’s original roots oriented songs, and a carefully honed selection of rock and roots cover tunes to create a unique sound that is broad in musical range while being strongly cohesive and inspiring throughout.
