Brian Lee & the Orbiters- Little Walter/Big Walter Tribute!

The Highway 99 Blues Club, 1414 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA

The award winning Brian Lee & the Orbiters pay tribute to two of the all-time greats of the blues harmonica: Little Walter Jacobs and Big Walter “Shakey” Horton!

In the words of Muddy Waters, Little Walter “set the example for the world in harmonica playing”. Willie Dixon described Big Walter Horton as “the best harmonica player I ever heard." It would be tough to find a harp player today that doesn’t owe a big debt to both Little Walter and Big Walter! Both were virtuoso players who inventively expanded the vocabulary of the harp, and who set the standard for tough blues harp tone!

In addition to Orbiters Brian Lee, Steve Yonck, Mark Dalton, and Russ Kammerer, to further heat up the show, the Orbiters have added the smokin’ guitar of Eric Daw. He'll be joining guitarist Steve Yonck to deliver classic two-guitar accompaniment backing Brian's harmonica for the full-tilt Chicago sound!

We'll be playing all Little Walter and Big Walter tunes in a long tribute feature first set, then more "Walters" tunes in later sets sprinkled in with a variety of other Orbiters originals and covers to provide some nice variety for the night.

With cool juke joint decor, a big wood dance floor, cajun influenced menu, and plenty of seating, the Highway 99 is one of the finest clubs in the Northwest. It's been a consistent winner of the Washington Blues Society "Best of the Blues" award for best club! Located on Seattle's waterfront, right across from the Aquarium, beneath the Highway 99 Viaduct.
