Yes indeed, the Orbiters will be competing in this year's Washington Blues Society "International Blues Challenge" competition, which if successful will lead to the big match up in Memphis, with bands from around the globe. 

This initial event features a ton of bands, so check it out! The door proceeds help fund the local Washington Blues Society winning band and solo/duo acts to head to Memphis for the finals in Feb 2014. All the acts will be judged by a panel of judges using the Blues Foundation's International Blues Competition criteria. Winners from five initial events around the state (such as this one) will compete at a final event August 18. 

The event runs from 2PM to 9PM overall, with ten acts performing for 25 minutes each. Brian & the Orbiters will be performing from 5:20-5:45.
