Paul has been a performing musician since his teens. Both an award winning blues artist and a jazz vocalist, he was inducted into the Washington Blues Society Hall Of Fame, and the annual Best Blues Harmonica Award was named after him by that same organization. His most recent CD released on the Pony Boy Jazz label, Creativity, is made up entirely of his original lyrics set to jazz instrumental melodies, a style known as Vocalese. His unique vocal and harmonica style have won him praise from both fans and fellow musicians alike. He continues to appear in clubs and perform studio work throughout the Puget Sound region.

Bake’s Place is presenting a series of concerts from April 7 to 10 in support of Save KPLU. All musicians are donating their cover charges to the campaign. The benefit concerts include performances by top Northwest jazz & blues artists. KPLU on-air hosts will be on hand each night for the fun.

KPLU has been the source for award-winning jazz and blues in the Northwest for 32 years and is proud of its strong connection to the local jazz scene. KPLU is the nation’s preeminent jazz station, and its jazz programming also has a large online global audience which includes its all-jazz service, Jazz24. It’s hard to imagine life without KPLU’s unique brand of curated jazz at 88.5 FM and online—but if the station’s impending sale by Pacific Lutheran University to the University of Washington goes through, that’s exactly what will happen.
